General table and revision balloons?

My question is, if using a general table in EPDM to track revision history, how do you handle identification of the changes on the print (i.e. revision balloons)?

I've read through quite a bit of discussions on managing revisions between Solidworks and EPDM.

Right now the best option seems to be using a general table in Solidworks with custom properties linked to variables in EPDM that are set during workflow transitions.

But, when working with a general table, how do you all handle rev identification symbols (i.e. balloons)?

Do you manually type the rev letter in each balloon?  Do you manually delete all of the old balloons when a rev drops off the table??

This all seems like a mess that is bound for disaster so I'm hoping someone has some good insight here!
