I have been wondering if the Friction Factor (K) in Bolt Connector in simulation is really necessary. I mean, if we have a tightening torque which is calculated with taking into a consideration thread and bolt head friction coefficients, why to specify it again?

As an example if we use this webiste to calculate the tightening torque:

We already have all the frictions included in the calculation, therefore what is the purpose of the Friction Factor (see attached) to be inserted again?

Even if we do it manually, e.i. calculate the tightening toque with either N.Motosh, DIN 946/VDI 2230 or R.Kellerman (http://www.archetypejoint.com/downloads/dissecting_the_nut_factor002.pdf) method the friction is always inserted into an equation.

So, again, could somebode please advise what is the correct way of specifying Torque and Friction Factor to achieve true results?
