Hello,
I have been scratching my head on this one, wondering what was wrong my with part that is preventing me from applying a Movable continuity on my freeform.
As it turns out, it seems that the Movable and Movable Tangent continuity options (as described in this link by the way: 2017 SOLIDWORKS Help - Creating Freeform Features ) are not available for any shape outside of a simple rectangular shape.
My shape is based on a mix of straight lines and arcs (10 or 12 segments) and all I get is the contact/tangent/curvature options; none of which are acceptable.
I've tried playing with the freeform feature on simpler polygon based shapes and there too I only get the contact/tangent/curvature options. Oblongs, same story; circle, same story.
I am not sure if it's a bug, or a 2018 issue, but I am almost 100% sure that I was able to pick the moveable options on non-rectangular shapes before.
I am not in front of SW now, but feel free to try it for yourself. New part, extrude a rectangular sketch, create a freeform feature, select the continuity option for any of the 4 segments (you should have all 5 available). Try again with any other sketch (circle, oblong, hexagon, etc) and now only 3 options are available.
Anyhow I would like to know if this is intended, and if it is, what am I missing to pick the continuity option that I need.
thank you
