I'm thinking about flying into one of these airports. John Wayne Airport (SNA) and Long Beach (LNG) are the closest, LA International Airport (LAX) could be a hassle if there is traffic. I have used SNA about a year ago and had no issues what so ever. I don't want to get a rental car and would be relying on shuttles or cabs for transportation.
