is it possible to flatten a multi-segment or multi-body cyclinder in solidworks?

what we are trying to achieve is a tank made from a large number of sheets welded together with a large number of nozzels and attachements. so to make the diameter we have 4 sheets welded end to end to make a strake and then we have 6 of those strakes welded on top of each other to form the height of the tank. the top and bottom strakes have a heap of nozzels for instuments and outlets etc to go into them. the locations of which are driven by degrees around the tank.

to add to the complication we then have 3 different tanks all with different nozzel locations. what were wer hoping is that we could do one model and then do a save as and change the nozzel locations (driven by degrees around the tank) and then do another save as and do the last tank.

what we would like in the way of drawings is a flat view of the entire tank showing all the individual sheets with all the holes to show the layout of the sheets with relation to each other. that drawing then tells the fabricators where to look for the drawings of the individual sheets and the hole details. for this reason i am thinking it would need to be one multi-body part of the tank to achieve the first drawing and then only import the body you want to detail to do the individual drawings. and at this stage that is waht i am working at but not having much luck.

i have also noticed i can do the hole details at an assembly level, but the holes don't transfer to the parts for the flat pattens so i am thinking that won't work at this stage.

any thoughts on how i might be able to achieve this?
