First off I am not entirely sure I know if I’m posting this in the correct forum section or not. I am a complete NEWBE to SolidWorks. I have a very simple (i thought) task. I have a cone, with a base diameter of 3.70in and a top of 3.66in with a height of 2.05 inches. I need to flatten that to be able to make a pattern of a vinyl decal. I have followed some tutorials on flattening a tub with no success. I get errors claiming sheet metal geometry too complex. I have attached a file with my attempt to slice the cone and flatten it.
