Find dimension

Hi guys, I have received a step file from a customer and I'm trying to produce it. I'm having a very hard time as they're work-drawings are not very good.

The part is below. It's a rectangular profile and on one side it is cut off at two different angles. Before it is cut off two holes are drilled in (also at an angle). I would like to know where the holes should be drilled in respect to the edges. So I'm interested in the distance from the centre line of the two holes to the edges of the original profile.

I have added material (in transparent) to the step file so I can see how the original profile used to look like. Next I projected the holes onto the surface to try and see where the holes should be drilled. SolidWorks however won't let me measure from the centreline of the protruding cilinders so I can't really measure anything! Tolerances are very high so it should be done very precise.

What am I doing wrong here? Why won't SolidWorks let me select the centreline of the object?

Thanks for helping out guys, appreciate it!

Robert
