We have recently received a file from a customer in SW2013 which forced us to work in 2013. Usually there are little nuances unique to each release that you have to get use to. 2013 is no different, in fact, it has more nuances between it and the last release since the 2008 release where the whole gui changed.
One of these many nuances is found in fillets. In the plastic industry every edge has to be filleted (minus obvious sharps for special situations). There could be several thousand edges in a typical part for my industry. In order to speed up the process I usually turn off preview in order to quickly select edges and then allow the software to process when I hit okay.
Not so in 2013! It processes the fillet whether I have preview on or not. It takes me twice as long to fillet a part in 2013 then it does in 2012. Also, the edge selector toolbar that pops up is proving to be annoying. If I happen to hover over certain buttons I have to wait for SW to highlight all the edges before I can continue on. It slows my work progress down tremendously.
I am surprised no one else has complained about this nuance in filleting on this forum yet. Usually I find several vicious posts about these types of things on this forum. Perhaps people have learned a little grace? Anyways, I would like to turn off the edge selection pop up menu while doing fillets. I have not found an option in the fillet command or in system options. Am I missing a check box somewhere to turn this tool off?
