We are using copy tree to copy one project's files to another location.  We run into two things that puzzle us:

1) The parts are receiving a new serial number, but the drawing retains the serial number from the original part until it is opened and checked back in.  Are we doing something wrong?  Is there a way to push the new serial number into the drawing without having to open/check it in?

2) After updating the serial number in the new drawings, if we search for the number of the original part, the search returns results with two drawings - one with the original serial number and one with the new one, even though the new drawing has no sign of the original part being referenced in it.  What's even stranger is if you navigate to the copy tree destination location where it says the drawing with the old serial number lives, it is not there, only the new drawing with the new part.

We are worried that this may cause problems with our procurement department if they search for one part number and receive results for drawings that do not seem to exist.
