Does anyone have any experience with the file compare in the history of a file?

We tried it for the first time today, we are trying to see the difference between two different versions?

Basically when we click compare we either get "files are identical" or "The files are different. You can map this tool to a more advanced compare tool in Solidworks epdm settings."  What programs are out there for this?
