I'm looking to model the sheet metal winding in the attached image. Though I have no problem creating parts that extrude a profile along a spiral and helix path or even extruding the spiral, how does one create a pattern repeat that follows this path? Even if I could only get one turn at a time that would be a big help. My end-around solution is to use tick marks to indicate spline intersections and extrude the 'hand-made' shape.

The wavy fin and spacer metal is 2 mil thick for what that's worth. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thx, Rich
