I would like to make a sheet metal part that will fit around the attached post as shown in my assembly file.  I tried to start with a flat pattern, but it is hard to get the profile to match up after bending.   Can I extrude a cut somehow through the part after it is bent to get the profile that I want, and then flatten to get a print for lasering?  I don't just want to cut away material, but I would like the edges to be wrapped around as I have them by bending a flat pattern.   Thanks.
