Extremely slow part rebuild times.

I have a part that I used in one area of an assembly.  In that area it had a metal grating on it and the increase in geometry made it huge, both in terms of files size, and memory usage.  I wanted to reuse the part elsewhere but without the grating.  I copied the part and deleted the grating features but the part still has incredibly slow rebuild times.  Without the grating the previous part would have rebuilt in less than 10 seconds.  Even when I have rolled it back to the origin or suppressed every single feature it still takes several minutes to rebuild.  I haven't checked the time but it is somewhere in the range of eight minutes. Without the grating and with everything suppressed I "saved as" and the file was reduced from 30.4 mb's to 5.4 mb's.  However just to open that file still takes forever when I know it shouldn't.  Any ideas?

I am posting the file for your inspection, but please remember that it has rebuild errors due to changes in geometry.  I have been trying to fix them but the 8 minute delay just to edit a sketch and 8 minutes more after I have finished editing is making it nearly impossible.
