I use Solidworks 2013 and have a part that contains the data from a 3D scan and I want to export the data as an STL file, however, normally you can just go to "Save as..." and export it as STL but when I try this it says there is no valid geometry to export. Indeed, when I try to save as any other type of file it just says there is no valid geometry to export.

I assume this is because the only geometry in the part is an "STL Graphics" item that can't be modified or exported indivudually in any way. There are no solid bodies or anything else in the part.

I have tried many things including exporting it as every available file type (they all end up empty if they work at all) and even using a Microsoft Structured Storage reader to see the files inside of the .sldprt file and export the actual data directly but nothing can read it. I have also tried using several basic STL file editors to see if they can import anything from it but also haven't had any luck there.

The data is there and I can clearly see the model on the screen so there must be some way to export it? Also, I would upload the part for reference but it is over the 25 MB limit.
