Hello SOLIDWORKS Community!

My name is Roman Konyayev, a mechanical design engineer and CSWP based in Almaty, Kazakhstan.

I am taking the initiative to establish the first official SOLIDWORKS User Group (SWUGN chapter) in Kazakhstan. While our regional engineering, R&D, and manufacturing sectors are expanding rapidly, Central Asia still lacks an active, official user group platform.

Our mission is to launch regular meetups in Almaty (combining in-person gatherings with live streaming) focusing on:

• Real-world design and fabrication challenges (sheet metal, CNC tooling, reverse engineering).
• Automation and best modeling practices.
• Supporting students and professionals pursuing SOLIDWORKS certifications (CSWA / CSWP).

Are there any engineers, students, or educators from Kazakhstan or Central Asia on this forum? I'd love to connect with you and get your feedback!

Also, any advice from experienced SWUGN leaders on launching a group in a new region would be hugely appreciated.
