I am looking for a function that allows me to reach into a subassembly and make a dimension accessible from the parent assembly. Of course I can do this with external references/global variables/etc., but those involve actually modifying those components. I want to be able to do it on something that is read-only (checked in), e.g. a pneumatic cylinder. I know that I can leave that DOF undefined and then make the cylinder flexible, which almost works, but I don't necessarily want to have to leave it undefined.

Is anyone aware of something that I am not? I can do most of what I need to without this, but it is one of the (very) few things that I miss going from Creo back to SW. Just hoping that it is there, but I just haven't found it.
