Is it somehow possible to link a value of one global variable to another?

I am trying to automate the calculations for railings made with weldments, it is possible to adjust length, height, width etc. however

not dimension of the balustrades or the frame.

Yes, I can link the global variable to the dimension of the weldment thickness/diameter, but the dimension changes name when I choose another weldment size (same profile), so the equation fail.

In the attached picture I would like the value of B to equal the value or (Evaluates to) of A and not the Global variable "A", if that makes sense.

This way I would be able to adjust the weldment thickness/diameter without having the equations fail.
