In EPDM 2014 "Change State" operation should be significantly faster in WAN environments with high latency. The new approach reduces the roundtrips to the database server from the client resulting in hugh performance benefit.

Amount of performance improvement depends upon amount of actions set in the transition and latency in the network (higher the latency, bigger the performance improvement), and number of files being transitioned together (higher the number of files, bigger the performance improvement).

In our testing with database server in US and client in India, we saw performance improvement in the range of 2 times faster to more than 10 times faster depending upon dataset.
