I am ready to upgrade from EPDM 2012 SP2 to EPDM 2013 SP3.  This will be the first time I performing the upgrade on my own.  In the past I have been a "helper" or observer in the upgrade and things always look different between when you are the passenger and the driver.  Well, now I am the driver and realize I didn't notice some key elements of the upgrade.

I have remote desktop log-in to the server where the archives and SQL manager are loaded.  Is this server also the one that I should be performing the upgrade on?
