I am trying to figure out what flow simulations do when the High Mach number flow option is enable.

I found some documents (see attached file) about the matter in technical reference, basically saying that the energy equation to be solved is rearranged when the High Mach number flow option is enable. Does anyone know what is the reason of solving the rearranged the energy equation?
