When editing a sketch in the context of an assembly (which I do all the time) and the part origin is coincident with the assembly origin, the default origin which is selected is the assembly origin rather than the part that is currently being edited. In other words: simply selecting the origin, or creating snaps, relations or dimensions to the origin, do not default to the part origin, but instead selects or creates an external reference to the assembly origin. This just seems like a bad default setting, and can't figure out if there's a way to change it. I can right click>select other and cycle through the different part or assembly origins that are at the same location, but why wouldn't the default be the currently active part? (this is rhetorical, unless there's a way to change it!)

If you're not careful, you end up with external references that you didn't intend on. I come across this when quickly developing concept designs, as working within the assembly is much more efficient, as long as you are concious of the references you are making (I don't like clicking the "no external references" button all the time, and even if this is selected, you then can't reference the current part origin anyway).

Any way to change this default selection action? I have searched all over, and have come across many mentions of the part origin vs. the sketch origin, etc, but nothing specifically related to this selection action. Thanks!
