can anyone tell me whether a design created using latest (student) version can be edited with an older version (in college)?

Also, am assuming that Cosmos (?) is not included in student version, therefore assuming can do above and copy design onto college system, can Cosmos then be run (or whatever it does).......sorry asking for my child using student version at home to create design but needing to test stress/strain etc
