We currently don't use PDM but are looking at employing it.

One worry I have is that curently, each job consists of similar parts which we name "SRs" "CBs" etc.

Each part for each job is different.  It doesn't cause a problem as we always close down an entire job before opening a new one.

This obviously would cause a problem if we opened two jobs at the same time. (bad practise I know but we have about 1000 jobs done in this way).

Would PDM pick up on this and cause me massive headaches?

If so, is there a way of renaming all parts & assemblies in a folder, so that the assemblies will still find the parts and sub assemblies?
