For some reason I have been unable to post any replies to myprior posting on this. Perhaps some others are having the sameproblem, and the thread has some sort of problem, so here is are-post;

One of the new features of 2009 was the ability to put a holethrough several parts in an assembly and have it "Drill down" toeach of the part files. Of course, it is a wonderful feature. But,with various the problems (some very serious) that are remainingwith even standard features in service pack 3 of 2009, I amhesitant to rely on an this brand new feature.
Anyone running into problems? Anyone using it extensively and knowit has been reliable?

Deepak ask what specific problems I was having, and what exactly"drill down was"...
"Drill down" was a term I heard at the 2009 rollout. It referred toa feature in SW where you can make a hole in an assembly throughseveral parts, and if you opened those part files, the holes wouldbe there. I.e. the holes would "drill down" to the part files.
I am concerned about using this feature because I've occasionallyhave had problems getting in-context parts to update. Even Cntl-Qwould sometimes not work. My dealer also has concerns and onlyrecommends it for preliminary designs.
Has anyone used it extensively, and found it reliable?
