Hello all,
I'm hoping this is a simple checkbox somewhere I'm missing, but I can't seem to find an option for this.
Is there an any way at all to have a drawing show the part with its current selected configuration? I know you can click the drawing view and change the configuration there, but what I'm talking about is having the drawing update when you open it to automatically switch over to the configuration that the model itself is.
Reason I ask is because we have an assembly with different configurations in it, when you pick one, several other parts change their configurations accordingly. The engineer then puts in some numbers and everything moves around accordingly. Some parts grow, some shrink, holes move, etc etc etc. The drawings are already made and all they have to do is make sure none of the dimensions decided to break orbit and leave the page. However, as of now they have to go in and change the active configuration in the drawings, even though the model itself is an entirely different configuration. I know they're more than capable of handling it, but it would be a very easy mistake to make to forget one and send off the wrong drawing to the shop. For example, a C9 Channel instead of a C10. The length and hole locations would be right, but it'd be the wrong channel.
Thoughts?
Thanks
