I would like to create a generic drawing "template" for our field service department and customers, who do not have Solidworks. I would like to be able to generate something like a PDF text form fields that would allow the users fill the generic template fields out so it can be emailed back quickly. I know you can do things like this in Office, but I've never tried in Solidworks.
I have already thought about using properties, but that isn't very user friendly, and I think it would need to be rebuilt in Solidworks to make the changes show up.
The primitive approach would be to save the drawing as a jpg, and put it in an office document and overlay text fields where the users are to fill in information, but this seems primitive, not to mention a pain to maintain.
Does anyone have any ideas on how to accomplish something like this? PDF's aren't a must, but it would be nice if the documents were in a fairly standard format, like PDFs, office documents, etc.
