It used to be you could drag and drop multiple parts from Windows explorer into an assembly, and they would all go in at once.  If you dropped them on the origin,  all the origins would be coincident.  Now, it looks like only one part will go in at a time, even if multiple parts are selected.  Is this on purpose, bug, regression, a setting someplace?
