Hello
I'm working in engineering company. Actually we have installed on each of our computers SolidWorks 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013 and a few colleagues as well the 2014 version.
We select the SolidWorks version according the customer requirement. Each time we have to start working for a different customer, we activate a registry (.reg) file made specially for this customer in order to match the directory paths for the templates and standards.
Problem (SolidWorks actually not running) :
Several colleagues face the problem that by double clicking a SolidWorks file out of the Windows Explorer SolidWorks opens not in the desired Version. E.g. SolidWorks trys to open the file in the Version 2010 even if the file is made with version 2012. Thus an error follows which says that the file is made in a future version an cannot be opened. I tried to manage this by defining the "standard applications for specific file types" (Systemsteuerung\Alle Systemsteuerungselemente\Standardprogramme\Dateizuordnungen festlegen) for the files ".slddrw; sldprt; sldasm and .sldlfp" but this does not work propper.
Is there a propper solution which enables us to define one pre-defined version of SolidWorks for opening any SolidWorks file by double clicking a file out of Windows Explorer?
Thanks for any help in advance
Pius
