I was wondering what's the best way to account for surface treatment and surface finish when using Simulation. I understand especially surface finish will greatly affect fatigue life of a component.

However, do surface finish and treatment have any significant effect for linear static stress analyses?

I've seen that the more serious treatments like anealling have separate material entries.
