I know displacements in a Frequency study are relative   e.g. they are not actual displacements

Just wondering whether the magnitude of the displacements can be qualitatively compared

• within the same mode
• across all of the modes

Previously I was under the impression it was across all of the modes, but I just read somewhere it's only within the same mode? Can anyone confirm this?
