I have a part that has a critical dimension from a flat surface to the OD of a pin that sits in a V shaped feature. Nothing unusual about dimensioning a V in this manner, but I had a really hard time figuring out how to get it to work. I'm hoping one of you have a more elegant solution. I tried:
1. Sketching a circle tangent to both sides of the V and dimensioning from the flat to the OD. Didn't work.
2. Sketching a circle tangent to both sides of the V and making sketch points on the flat and OD and dimensioning between them. Didn't work.
3. Sketching a circle tangent to both sides of the V and making sketch lines on the flat and OD and dimensioning between them. Didn't work.
4. Tried the above making the circle construction.
Finally, I went back to the part and made a sketch of the pin in the V and then made it visable in the drawing view. This finally worked.
It's not the best solution, because the circle really doesn't belong on the model, but I got what I needed.
Anyone have a better idea?
