Hi everyone,
I'm running into an issue on one of my computers.
Every time Windows 10 does one of its quarterly updates, it rolls back the SolidWorks certified graphics driver for my Quadro K2200 and replaces it with some compatibility driver from 2015.
-meaning I have to go back in and install the video card again.
I can handle that on a quarterly basis, but I'm afraid next time there's a security update or something like that I'll be back in the same boat.
I've tried setting group policy to not update the driver for the device id's of the video card, but it causes Windows to revert to the basic plug-n-play 1024x768 driver and put an error message on the video card in Device Manager.
I don't mind the rest of the updates for Windows and I definitely want the security holes plugged, but this assault on my system configuration is getting to be a pain. I run Visualize in GPU mode and need the certified driver.
Pertinent information:
SolidWorks 2018 SP1.0
Windows 10 Professional: version: 1803, build: 17134.48
Nvidia Driver Version: 22.21.13.8607 (12/19/2017)
So, two questions: Have any of you experienced the same problem where Windows update will roll back your graphics card?
-and what can be done about this?
Thanks for your help.
John
