Most of the discussion about design tables seems to assume that the user wants more than one configuration of the part.  For my needs, I just want to make modfications of my models more direct.  In other words, I don't like hunting through the model for dimensions and would prefer that they be in a sinlge location.  Does anyone use design tables in this manner?  What are the positives and negatives?
