Deleting Components from Subassemblies

In an assembly, when you select a component that belongs to a subassembly and perform a Delete, only the selected component is deleted.

Previously, the entire subassembly hierarchy to which the component belongs was deleted.

This funtionality was new in 2013. I hear about this at least once a month, that this has created major problems for the customer (especially when the file was older and used in multiple assemblies).  They would like a way to disable this functionality.
