having watched a webinar from solidworks called SolidWorks for furniture . I was pleased to see
that they have written a macro for generating a cutting list . a few days later after receiving an emails from soldworks with the presentation and all the files , templates and macro , I tried to
install into solidworks . but no matter what way I try I just can`t get it to produce a cutting list
showing length, width and thickness.
here are the instruction that I got with the email (I followed them to the letter):
Furniture webcast files.
Furniture.prpprt Place this file in your custom properties folder (find this location under options/system options/file locations/custom property file
Complete Cutting list .sldbomtbt Place this file in your custom properties folder (find this location under options/system options/file locations/custom property file
Cut List.swp create a macro icon for this macro on your toolbar. Run it after you have assigned properties to the parts as this will put length width and thickness values into the properties for the parts that have been assigned “Cut /sawn” from the properties menu and leave “bought in” and “CNC” item blank.
Furniture webcast feature library This folder should be placed in your design library ( the location of this can be found under options/system options/file locations/custom property file) The library feature like the cam lock hole should be fine but the assemblies for the smart components might need to be opened up and the parts found again.
SolidWorks in the furniture industry.pptx Power point presentation
I create my furniture models as mutlibodies part files
I would appreciate any help in what I'm doing wrong
i have also attached the macro file
thanks
Anthony
