Can the following thing be built by relation?

In the same part:

In a sketch there are two lines: A & B. I want B’s length always be 3 times of A, and is driven by the A as A’s length changes.

I didn’t find any relation capable of achieving that. Do I have to use custom properties, or equations?

Similar, but in different parts:

Part α and β both have a square face, but I would want β’s square face to have area that is 4 times of the square face on α. I don’t see relation can handle this. How should I do that?
