Current Gaming Cards and Open GL

I have noticed that the current Nvidia and Radeon Graphics cards now support Open GL4.5 or 4.6 - This is the same as their equivalent Quadro or Pro Cards. So the big question is, while they are supposedly not supported by Solidworks - do they run it well and does this include Realview graphics? And besides lack of support, or my local re-seller blaming every issue on the graphics card regardless of what the problem is, are there any noticeable performance issues?

Would love to hear from anyone with some experience testing between the two.

FWIW I have run SW off gaming cards in the past, and besides not having access to realview graphics, the performance issues did not show up until assemblies got rather large - 4-5000+ parts. But that was several years ago, and I have had the luxury of employers paying for Quadro cards for the last couple of machines.
