I am trying to recreate a section of a rail line for reference in my assembly.  I have the ACAD version of the rail loop which I have managed to insert into my part as a reference.  I now need to create a representation of the actual rail, so I can reference this in my drawings.

I have 2 issues:

1. Some of the radius' in the loop are in excess of 1,000,000mm so when I use the existing CAD geometry as a refernce, it fails

2. When I do manage to create the representative rail feature using straight sections instead of the large radii, the resulting feature does not show. 

     I can select the feature, eg if I run my mouse over the screen, the edges of the feature show up, but I cannot see the actual feature on the screen. 
     If I place this part in a drawing, the feature is shown. 

     I have tried changing the display from solid with edges, wire frame etc but there is no change

Has anyone any idea as to how I can get around these two issues.
