Please be patient as I attempt to explain what I am trying to achieve. Currently our company uses the custom properties in each part to create all of our part information (rev #, rev description, rev date, material, etc.) then we link those properties into our drawing using linked annotation. Nothing to fancy. Our current revision block in the drawing templates is only nine revisions long and the problem we are starting to run into for certain parts is when we exceed nine revisions. In this case we would have to manually edit the sheet format and move the current revisions up in order to add a 10th or 11th revision. In some cases, if there is not enough room we would have to delete the first or second revision annotations to get the newest revs to fit. Very time consuming and problematic as you can imagine. I have considered transitioning into using the standard solidworks rev tables but it would be very time consuming to update and change all 20,000 prints. and no we do not have PDM... YET.

I was wondering if there was a way to embed an Excel template with these links inside of my drawing template. This way when we exceed nine revision all I have to do is edit the sheet format, double click the Excel block to open it in context, and scroll down to show the next revision. This way I would have to delete and old revision history. From all of the forums I have read this seems possible, but will take quite a bit of work. I am just not sure where to start. Any suggestion would be appreciated.
