I'm trying to talk our mechanical engineer into using IDF and CircuitWorks for PCBs. (He currently uses DXFs)

I know how to create board outlines with holes but how do you assign the correct feature mapping so that CircuitWorks knows what each entity is?

I think I remember seeing someone using "cosmetic layers" to show the outline, keep-outs, height obstructs, etc. but I've also heard of "feature mapping".

What is the proper way to do this so that the process is as automated as possible?
