I am trying to create silo parts in the context of a silo assembly.

I started by creating a master part for the silo.

Then Menu bar>File>Make assembly from part.

An assembly opened and the master part was highlighted in the property manager.  I clicked the green tick and the part origin moved to coincide with the assembly origin.  So far so good.

Help file advises Menu bar>Insert>Component>New part.  I did this.

Help file advises that new part will appear in Feature manager design tree, but it does not.

The cursor does change to a green tick, and I clicked in a blank region of the graphics area, but nothing happened.

I can find no tools for creating extrusions from the sketches in the master part.

Is it me or Solidworks?
