Hi,

I am neighbour to Solidworks . PCB layout guy.

I am recently interacting with Solidwork Mechanical friend to create Electronic components.That is creating the component in solid work and exporting it in step file and assigning the 3d model it in the fooprints.

Now my question.

The exported 3d model is huge.

Say, 8 pin TSSOP Pacakge cost me  600-700kb file size. imagine, If I am using  50 times in my Board. My Board size is getting fatter.

All I would like to know is, is there a way in Solid works save the coponent ( Simple IC) in the Step model with less file size.
