Creating a custom property that contains a partial string of another custom property

Hi,

I've created a custom property with a text value. The value is 549841_P050.

I'd like to create another custom property with a value that is the last 4 characters of that custom property (in this case P050).

I've successfully used Excel deisgn tables to accomplish this, but I was wondering if there was a way to avoid using EXcel.
