I have a library feature of a slot, consisting of a sketch that cuts through the surface it's placed on. It has a two reference edges that it is attached to. I apply it many times across several parts in an assembly, and each instance is linked to the library feature file (the checkbox is selected). I then edit the library feature in the source file, changing a single dimension slightly. When I go back to my assembly and rebuild, none of the changes are visible. If I try to edit one of the library features, solidworks crashes. If I close the file and reopen it, solidworks either crashes, or, even worse, says it cannot open the file. The only way I can fix this is by editing the library feature back to it's earlier state. After that it's a toss-up whether solidworks can open the assembly or not.
Sometimes after doing this several times, solidworks cooperates and I see my changes.
I've had Solidworks crash, hang, and refuse to open the assembly numerous times while trying to do this, on multiple computers and both 2012 and 2013 (x64) versions.
Any advice?
