We are recently experiencing a bug with the creation of new configurations for Toolbox items. Select, say, a new length of screw and SolidWorks will immediately crash. Luckily the new configuration does get created, so one can restart and carry on, but it is an odd way to work. Apparently this bug (SPR 837232 – “Crashing when dragging and dropping a Toolbox component from the task pane into an assembly”) is fixed in SW2016, but we will be using SW2015 for another 9 months. Anyone know of a better workaround?
