Hello,
I am setting up multiple new workstations for Solidworks for our company’s engineering department. The computers are spec’d as follows:
- Dell Precision Tower 3620
- Intel Xeon E3-1225v5 Processor – 3.3GHz
- 32GB (2x16GB) DDR4 RAM (2400MHz)
- NVIDIA Quadro P1000 graphics card
- Windows 10 Professional 64-bit
- 256GB SSD
- Solidworks 2015 SP5 (upgrading is not an option at this time)
We are experiencing some problems. When Solidworks is opened, two instances open and I can’t determine why. As models are opened and closed during the day, performance of Solidworks degrades. Our largest models are in the 150 – 200 MB range. By midday or so, the RAM and CPU are near maximum, and the rotation on models is jerky, even when opening a small model. The more times we open and closed, the sooner we start seeing poor performance. Closing Solidworks and reopening it alleviates the RAM and CPU usage problem. I have confirmed Solidworks 2015 SP5 is supported on Windows 10. Has anyone else seen this type of behavior? Can anyone recommend tweaks to resolve this issue?
Thanks in advance,
Michael
