I am setting up costing for my company. We only use sheet metal, so I don't care about the other kinds of costing.

I just can't understand why the cost of sheet metal would be calculated per pound instead of per square inch or foot.

Is there any way to change it to square inch/foot so that our prices are actually calculated in a logical way?
