Convert to Sheet Metal thickness tolerance control

It is common for me to receive a part file from a customer that I have to convert to sheet metal.  These parts may be thicknesses that require 3 place decimal input, but the Convert to Sheep Metal tool will sometimes chop the third decimal after an entry like Detail A:

                    DETAIL A                                        DETAIL B

in this case giving me a sheet metal part .060 thick.  I have been fixing this by creating the convert feature, then going back into the Sheet Metal feature (Detail B) in the design tree and fixing it there.  I haven't found a precision tolerance control for this.  Anyone know why this happens & how I can get this right the first time?
