Hello,
For one of my FEA projects, I am trying to simulate a response of a plate under 4 pt bending. The plate has a curved cross section, but is symmetric. I am doing a nonlinear simulation.
I have developed 4 rollers which are in surface to surface contact with the plate, to recreate the physical setup for 4 point bending.
When I run the analysis without friction, it runs correctly, but the plate slips/yaws along its width. Furthermore, not adding friction i not a realistic recreation of model anyway.
But, then I add friction, immediately I start having convergence issues and the solver starts step sizing.
Because this is a nonlinear study, I do not have the options of soft spring Stabilisation or no penetration contact under global contact definition. My global contact is therefore bonded.
I am using SolidWorks 2023.
