Configure Components Feature is ignoring my wishes.

I can't get the "Configure Component" selection to work correctly.  I right click on a particular component, and I want to suppress the component in a particular "Configuration" for the over all assembly.  The command total ignores my selections of which configurations in the assembly shall be suppressed and leaves the state as it was before.  I've done this a few time, and I'll even film it  if you don't believe it.  So the question is how do I get the "Configure Component" feature to work.  Is it that Solidworks is falling down on the job like with the "Mirror Components" feature I discovered a few years ago and the Solidwork's answer at the time is to go pound sand, we plan on fixing that debacle in a few years?  Yeh, that was their strategy, hell it still doesn't work by the way and I am using 2024 version.  Please let me know so I can write this down as a list that Solidworks doesn't want to fix.

If you would like to debunk my thoughts, I will supply you with my Solidworks file and you can play with it and report back to me as to which process will enable me to take control over the appearance of individual components in the assembly.  All you have to do is take the highlighted parts and suppressed them in the "Rear Insert" configuration.  I keep looking for a way to upload my Solidworks file but that doesn't seem to be easy.  If it doesn't make it on thsi post let me know and I can try something else.
